Answers before your visit
Do I need a request from a doctor?
Most diagnostic tests need a written request from a physician. A number of screening panels can be requested directly, and the front desk will confirm which ones apply to you.
How will I get my results?
Verified reports are released to your requesting physician. You can also collect a printed copy at the laboratory counter with your official receipt and a valid ID.
How long does testing take?
Turnaround depends on the test. Routine chemistry and hematology finish much faster than cultures, which need incubation time. The counter gives you an expected release time when your specimen is received.
What happens if a result is critical?
Critical values are re-checked and then called directly to the requesting physician before the printed report is released, so treatment is not delayed.
Is there special handling for children?
Yes. Pediatric collection uses smaller tubes and fine-gauge needles, and a parent or guardian stays with the child throughout the draw.
